Paddle Tas will be running a Flatwater Supervisor/Guide/Instructor training and assessment course for an Paddle Australia Qualification (PAQS award) the weekend of July 17-18 at Trevallyn Lake at Blackstone Heights Park
Paddle Tasmania will conduct a 2 day Flatwater Su[ervisor/Guide/Instructor Course based at Trevallyn Lake. The course will commence at 9am – 4pm on Sat, July 18 and 9am – 4pm on Sun July 19.
Assessment for this course (for either FW Guide or Instructor, or Supervisor, dependent upon participant previous experience and meeting the PAQS criteria) will occur both informally and formally over the two days. Please see attached supporting document for the explanation between the awards from the PA website to see at which level the participant is aiming for or requires.
Participants need to bring:
- Kayak, canoe or SOT, paddle, PFD, spraydeck
- Warm paddling clothing – 2 sets per day of next-to-body clothing is rnrecommended so you don’t have to put on wet gear for a second paddling rnsession
- Lunch, drinks and snacks
- Personal paddling log, other relevant qualifications
- Any currently used risk management or lesson plans if available. These are rnnot required at the time of the course, but if you are using some, bringrn them along for review.
- Paper and pen
