Pathway: Firstly, participants are required to complete the introduction to coaching course (canoe polo). The course cost has been integrated into the foundation costs for Paddle TAS members plus a $60 coach registration fee valid for 3 years and is fully online. This course is only for those registering for the foundation course. The course link can be found at:
https://education.paddle.org.au/courses.php?register&eventId=2658 Once completed, participants progress to the Foundation coaching Course (Canoe Polo) which is a blended online and face-to-face course. The course cost is $140 for Paddle TAS members. The link for the course can be found here: https://education.paddle.org.au/courses.php?register&eventId=2656 Participants will be expected to attend 2 Online Zoom sessions on dates to be confirmed, prior to their face-to-face component.
The face-to-face component will be held in Launceston on the weekend of Saturday 23 – Sunday 24 September 2023. The weekend will include a day of theory on the Saturday and a practical day with on-water coaching training and assessment with local polo players.
Once complete, participants will need to demonstrate coaching ability and produce a log of 10 hours/ 10 sessions of coaching supervised by a qualified coach at their club. Participants will be assessed in their clubs and then signed off by Brigit Doyle and Paddle TAS. |
